Help With Your Remodel
April 1st, 2011
This month I would like to guide you as to what you can do as the homeowner to help with your remodel once you have done all of your research, made all of your decisions, hired your contractor and the project is about to begin. Here is my advice.
Go fishing. Empty out all of your cabinets and push back your furniture first but definitely go fishing. Once you have gone fishing go again. Go out to dinner, go out to dinner often and then go fishing once more.
Please understand that remodels are a lot like sausage being made. Not pretty to look at during the process but very enjoyable after they’ve been cooked.
Here is what it comes down to. By this time you have made all of your decisions and it is time to trust in those decisions. Let the folks do what they came for and you will be pleasantly surprised at how well you did with your choices. Not to mention trusting yourself will lead to a longer life due to less stress.
I’m thinking of having t-shirts made for the install crew with writing on the back that reads “If you can read this we will have to charge more”. That should be a great motivator for you to get your fishing rod out of storage. What do you think?
