How Is Your Cabinet Jewelry?

Do you ever get the feeling that your kitchen or bathroom vanities are just blah! It’s not something that you can pinpoint but an overall feeling that can be unsettling. You know that you don’t need a complete remodel and you may be comfortable with what you have so what should you do? As you may imagine I have some suggestions.
Try this. Take off your door and drawer hardware and replace it with cabinet jewelry. That’s right cabinet jewelry. Just like when you go out on that special date with your guy of 38 years and you put on your best jewelry and your guy tells you that you look swell. You can do that to your cabinets as well. There are specialty products available to you that will make your kitchen say WOW again.
There are other ways that you can change the look of your kitchen without the commitment of a full remodel. At the risk of costing me some business how about painting your cabinets? Try removing the center panel of a few doors and adding glass inserts. How about removing the doors altogether and creating an open shelf look? Find yourself a pro and these things and more can be handled quickly, easily and with out much fuss.
As an example I recently met a woman who did not want to replace her kitchen but most definitely didn’t like her cabinetry and the layout (“footprint”) of her kitchen. After a couple of sessions we came up with some great ideas. We removed two entire walls of upper cabinetry and replaced them with thick custom shelving up to 8 feet high. A couple of well placed glass door cabinets and we had “the look”. More importantly we added just the right tile behind these shelves and the perfect lighting under the shelves and in the glass door cabinets. Without touching the rest of the cabinetry we created a brand new and exciting kitchen.
And then we added the cabinet jewelry.
