What About The Schedule?

One of the most important things about your kitchen remodel is the schedule. We know how much work goes into the decisions that you have to make to get the remodel going such as appliances and at what price point. What cabinet color, style and design will work for you? Which countertop type will you choose when the choices seem limitless? Even the faucet selection can have many people baffled. But all of these items can and do come together by the time you have decided to forge ahead even though it can seem overwhelming at the time. What about the schedule? How is it all going to work?

The best advice I can offer to all of you is not to sign a contract with any contractor, kitchen designer or your brother in law Bob until you have a schedule in hand. This should be part of the package that is being presented to you prior to your purchasing. Notice I said “prior to purchasing”.

You should expect to see everything that will happen from the day you commit to the last day of the project. Starting with the permitting process and how long that takes to what day the de-installation begins. From there it is an easy process for a professional to line up all of the trades and products for your remodel months in advance. Each step revolves around the cabinet installation. If you know the day of cabinet installation everything else works backwards and forwards from that date. For instance we can tell you exactly what day you will be installing your new Viking range hood and we can do it three months in advance. We can do that because we have surrounded ourselves with good reliable “trade partners” who, like us, really care about customer service. So, if your “go to guy” tells you that making an accurate schedule months in advance is something he can’t do then I advise you to find someone who can.
